Our collaborative work encompasses social practice, lens-based exchanges, performance, and pedagogy. It is transparent, accessible and meant to connect people through empathy and shared experiences. Stemming from a profound friendship that supports each of our individual practices, 218-RP-2 uses play to encourage people to be present in each moment, while processing their lived experiences and honoring their own stories. We situate our identity in Theodore Adorno’s philosophy that the production of art, as opposed to the aesthetic judgment of it, is the reservoir for human freedom. Our artwork is the human experience: engaging in it, capturing it, conjuring it, and sharing it with, and between, people.
